Each week {as the Lord wills} we will be going through a different topic related to the story of the Gospel. We're starting from the beginning- the basics of Christianity, so to speak- from why we study and believe the Bible, to why we need Jesus and His sacrifice, to how He changes our lives in our daily walk with Him now.
I'm planning to post each Tuesday, and give you a short worksheet and Scripture list to study in advance, that way we can discuss it here the next week as a community. :D {yay!!!}
A Bible Study for All
This study is for everyone- whether you don't know if you believe, or if you're a new believer and need some guidance on the basics, or if you're a long time Christian who wants to fall in love with the gospel again and learn to walk intimately with our God each day!We're going to be studying who He is and who we are in relation to Him, and why we need Him so desperately.
Each week, I encourage you to try to spend any time with Him you can- early, late, noon... whatever- just to study who He is. When we see ourselves in light of who God is, we can't help but fall to our knees in need of Him. And it's such a beautiful thing. Ahhh!!
Studying and walking with Him is transforming- no matter where you are right now! He continually transforms us through His Word and His Holy Spirit. And He's always surprising us with how He does it! :D
I just love this quote:
Imagine yourself as a living house. God comes in to rebuild that house. At first, perhaps, you can understand what He is doing. He is getting the drains right and stopping the leaks in the roof and so on; you knew that those jobs needed doing and so you are not surprised. But presently He starts knocking the house about in a way that hurts abominably and does not seem to make any sense.Isn't that exciting? He wants to do far more in us than we could ever imagine!!
What on earth is He up to? The explanation is that He is building quite a different house from the one you thought of - throwing out a new wing here, putting on an extra floor there, running up towers, making courtyards. You thought you were being made into a decent little cottage: but He is building a palace. He intends to come and live in it Himself.
― C.S. Lewis, Mere Christianity
Are you ready? :D
